Technology

Abeo markets two patented building technologies, which open up new perspectives in concrete constructions and have the potential to radically improve both financials as well as the environmental impact from the building industry.

The primary technology, called Super-Light Structures, is essentially a new way of combining ordinary and lightweight concrete. By making a core of ordinary concrete, which is then surrounded by an adjacent layer of lighter concrete, it is possible to achieve a weight reduction of about 50% while maintaining the strength of the structure. This entails a reduction in material use (including steel reinforcement), which leads to significant cost and COreductions.

The second and supplementary technology has been named Pearl-Chain Reinforcement. The technology makes it economically feasible to construct curved structures, which has traditionally been highly cost-intensive. The fundamental principle is to wire a number of prefabricated concrete elements. When the wire is stressed, the concrete elements can form a curved structue, without the use of expensive moulds and scaffolding. Fields of application are many, e.g. buildings where curved shapes are demanded and in particular bridges.
